The issue that prevented some Sub Télus customers in Southern Ontario from calling 911 early on Thursday has been fixed.
Just before 5:30 a.m., Hamilton Police posted on Twitter that, according to the company, Telus landlines couldn’t call 911.
The tweet stated, “We have been advised this is a widespread outage.”
A SOLUTION IS BEING WORKED ON BY TELUS.
According to the company’s website, the issue started on Thursday shortly after one in the morning.
DURHAM REGION, PEEL REGION, HALTON REGION, HAMILTON, NIAGARA, GUELPH, GANANOQUE, AND CHATHAM WERE ALL AFFEED AREAS.
According to the website, “Wireline 911 Services are suffering to Failure, which may result in your inability to reach 911 from your landline.”
Just after 7 a.m., Hamilton Police reported that the problem you were having had been fixed. Regional Peel Police tweeted a similar statement.
