Remembrance Day: Road closures, parking restrictions for annual parade in Kelowna

On November 11th, parking restrictions and temporary road closures will be in place in some areas of downtown Kelowna.
The Royal Canadian Legion’s Branch 26 in Kelowna will lead a parade downtown on Friday morning to a memorial service in City Park.
To accommodate the parade, the City of Kelowna says road closures and parking restrictions will be in effect along the route from 7:30 a. m. to approximately 1 p. m.

Starting at 10:40 a.m., the parade will travel south along the lakefront promenade from Stuart Park before turning into City Park via Abbott Street.
At 10:30 a.m., traffic on Abbott Street between Bernard and Lawrence Avenues will be stopped. Additionally, there will be barricades on Bernard Avenue at Mill Street.
Following the conclusion of the memorial ceremony at the City Park cenotaph, parade participants will march back towards City Hall.

Between Abbott and Water streets, Lawrence Avenue will be blocked off during the return march.
Police and traffic control personnel will be stationed along the parade route..
