Port Rashid wins two prestigious awards at the 2022 World Travel Awards

At the annual World Travel Awards 2022 ceremony, the port of Rashid took home two prestigious awards: the “Pioneering Maritime Flight Port in the Middle East” award on October 23 in Jordan and the “Given Maritime Port in the World” award on November 11 as part of the closing ceremony held in the Sultanate of Oman.
The recognition came as a result of Rashid Port’s outstanding performance in the marine industry for the fifteenth consecutive year.

Through its innovative capabilities and contribution to enhancing Dubai’s transformation from just a local port for traditional transported merchandise trade across wooden ships, to a pioneering global centre for the marine services sector, the port of Rashid has strengthened its leading position as a favourite destination for marine tourism lines around the world.

According to Hamza Mustafa, Executive Director of Operations at B & Marinaz of the DB World Group, Dubai’s position as a major entryway to regional and international maritime tourist lines and a global tourism hub was strengthened by Rashid Port’s modern facilities for travellers and the passenger terminal.

According to him, there were 100% more tourist ships established in the port of Rashid than there were during the previous tourist season because it is anticipated that there will be about 600,000 passengers and crew members, or more than twice as many as there were during the previous season.

Rashid Port, which opened in 1972, has played a crucial role in helping Dubai develop into a popular international destination for business and cruise travelers. By making Dubai a prosperous regional tourist hub, Rashid Port has helped Dubai diversify its economy and lessen its reliance on oil returns.

In 2008, the port of Rashid transformed into a sophisticated station for cruise ships thanks to its strategic location, modern facilities, and enormous absorptive capacity to receive the large number of travelers, as its capacity is receiving seven enormous tourist ships at once, and approximately five million visitors annually. These qualitative changes occurred as a result of Dubai’s ongoing development to become a leading regional centre for tourism.

The port of Rashid is one of the most renowned marine tourism centres and luxury yachts in the world, and the capacity of the yacht marina and boats in the port totals more than 400 yachts. The facilities of the port and the yacht marina have been greatly expanded to integrate with the travellers station and keep up with future requirements.

With the significant resurgence of the maritime tourism industry in Dubai and the welcome of 123 tourist ships from the largest international cruise line operators at the Rashid Port Station for Marine Tourisms, more than 900,000 passengers are currently anticipated to arrive during the winter season this year. The “Min Shiv-6” ship will be a company “TUI Cruz Line,” which will be the first tourist trips that will open this season with its arrival at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Maritime St.

At the 2022 World Travel Awards, Port Rashid receives two honors.
