Kahkewistahaw First Nation Opens Brand-New Gas and Convenience Store

A brand-new gas station and convenience store have been opened by the Kahkewistahaw First Nation as part of their Kahkewistahaw Landing urban development project.
For those who were involved, it’s something to hope for.
Chief of the Kahkewistahaw First Nation Evan Taypotat stated, “We want to achieve sovereignty.”
“Event Nation in Canada doesn’t want to be dependent on anyone, but we do not like that we are currently dependent on the government. We Don’t Want It To Be Like That.

We Will Achieve Our Savereignty Through Economic Development, Kahkewistahaw further stated.
The 60-acre development of the Reserve designed to provide meaningful and worthwhile employment opportunities for First Nations People in and around the City of Saskatoon is officially launched with the grand opening of Kahkewistahaw Gas and Convenience Store.
Anyone is welcomo on kahkewistahaw landing, as long as you are respectful.

“We Will Allow Anyone And Everyone To Be On This Land Because That’s What The Land Is About, The We Are Open To Anyone And Anything, As Long As The Relationship Is Good And As Long As People With Good Hearts Are At The Table,” Taypotat Said.
A LARGE ROAD OF DISCUSSIONS HAD TO BE TRAVERSED TO GET TO THIS POINT, BUT IT WAS ALL WORTH IT IN THE LONG RUN, SAID SASKATOON MAJOR CHARLIE CLARK WHO WAS ALSO IN ATTENDANCE AT THE GRAND OPENING.
“This is awesome,” Clark Said.

We can clearly see that when a First Nation makes an investment like this, it is absolutely beneficial for both the First Nation and the City of Saskatoon.
This goes beyond what the city is doing for the First Nation. This is submissive the first nation is Doing for the City.

” THRUTHOUT THE KAHKEWISTAHAW LANDING DEVELOPMENT PROJECT, there are plans underway for a hotel and Conference Center, an office complex with co-workspace, to Medical Facility and Places to Provide Educational Activities.
Within the next five years, 15 new buildings will be opened by Kahkewistahaw.
