Days after the armed attack on Imran Khan .. The Pakistani police opens a criminal investigation

In spite of Imran Khan’s claims that the assassination attempt involved multiple gunmen, the Pakistani police announced on Tuesday that only one gunman was responsible for carrying it out.
Khan, 70, was wounded last Thursday during a march. He is presently recuperating from his leg wounds at his residence in eastern Pakistan’s Lahore.

Khan’s supporters closed roads near the capital, Islamabad, on Tuesday, which led to the disruption of traffic and the closure of schools, in order to protest against the attempt to assassinate their leader in the city of Minister of Abad in the province of Punjab.
Without providing any additional information, Abbas, the most dangerous police chief in Islamabad, told Reuters that a criminal investigation had been opened into the incident.

It was reported in a copy of the police report offered by the Minister of Abad police and reviewed by Reuters that a man in the crowd near Khan took out a pistol and began shooting, wounding Khan and ten others, one of whom died later.
According to the police, the suspect was detained to prevent him from suffering more severe wounds after Ibtisam Hassan Al-Munasar, Lakhn, was defeated by Khan.

In several press interviews with the local media, Hassan claimed that the police suspect they had detained was the same militant who had stopped him from completing his mission.
Assailants allegedly tried to kill Khan. He and his helpers explained that until the names of the suspects he identified were included in the police report, they would not accept the case as being valid.
“We will apply for a petition,” Fouad Chaudhry, a associate of Khan, said.

Khan accused three people of managing a plot of his assassination, namely Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Minister of Interior, Rana Sanaa Allah, and official in intelligence, General Faisal Nasser. However, he did not offer any proof for his claims, which the army and the government vehemently refuted.

A criminal investigation is launched by the Pakistani police days after Imran Khan was attacked with weapons.
