Turkey has started paying part of the Russian gas supplies in rubles

The energy minister, Fateh Dunmes, stated that Turkey started paying a portion of the natural gas imports from Russia in rubles in an interview with TRT Haber that was broadcast today, Tuesday.
“As you know, an agreement has been struck, and it has already begun to pay part of the amount,” the Turkish minister stated in the interview (dues in the ruble). Our efforts will be stepped up in this direction.

The Turkish minister said that technical discussions on the exchange of national currencies are now taking place between Moscow and Ankara.
On the Russian gas center in Turkey, Dunms said that the gas distribution center, which was proposed by the Russian President, will be in Turkey in Taraqia in the European part of the country.

In a meeting with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the middle of September, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared that Turkey has emerged as one of Russia’s reliable gas delivery routes, where the “Turkish torrent” operates without a hitch.
The Russian President stated that 25% of Russian gas shipments to Turkey will be paid for in rubles, the Russian currency, and emphasised that Ankara consistently upholds its responsibilities with relation to the crossing of Russian gas (to Europe).

One of Russia’s most important markets is Turkey, which receives natural gas from Russia via the “Turkish torrent” and “blue torrent” routes.
