The Italian Defense Secretary Guido Krossito’s promise to continue helping Ukraine defend itself against the Russian war was respected by the US Department of Defense (Pentagon).
In a press release posted on its website today, Tuesday, the US Department of Defense stated that this conversation took place during a phone call between US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and his Italian counterpart Crossito to congratulate him on his new position. The two ministers also spoke about the strong bilateral defence ties between the US and Italy as well as their ongoing cooperation to support Ukraine, including providing it with air defence systems.
Austin thanked Calcrosito for hosting the American forces in Italy and the two agreed to continue their close cooperation to advance their defence partnership.
