With a slim majority in the House of Representatives and an even slimmer majority in the Senate, the Democratic Camp (President Joe Biden Party) is currently on the back foot against the Republican Party, which wants to see the “red flood” sweep Washington.
The political climate of the nation during the following two years will be determined by the results of these elections.

The Democrats gained 222 seats in 2020, giving them a slim majority.
The Republicans, on the other hand, received 213 seats, which is said to be the lowest number since 1932, and they intend to retake power. They only need 5 more seats to do it, though.
35 of the 100 Senate seats up for election this year—12 for Democrats and 23 for Republicans—will be for a six-year term.

There are currently 48 Democratic members, 48 Republican seats, and two independent seats that vote with the Democrats.

Some Americans cast their votes for their state’s governors today, on Tuesday, and this year’s election concerns 36 of the 50 seats.
