Tomorrow .. a press conference to announce the opening of the German pavilion in COP27

German Minister of State for Development, Yoshn Vlasberth, Minister of State and Special Envoy for International Climate Work at German Foreign Ministry, Jennifer Morgan, will hold a joint press conference tomorrow, Tuesday. With the purpose of announcing the start of the German pavilion at the COP27 Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, which is taking place in Sharm El Sheikh.

In a statement released today, the German Foreign Ministry announced that on the first day of the climate conference, Morgan represented the federal government. Following Morgan, negotiations will be led by Foreign Minister Analina Perbuk.

The ministry continued, noting that government representatives will negotiate on a concrete work programme to reduce global warming emissions and set ambitious national goals, that the German government’s goals from the climate conference are to reduce emissions and show more solidarity with nations that have already been severely affected by the climate crisis. To reduce, in addition to multilateral negotiations to enhance the global energy transformation through bilateral conversations and agreements, tangible adaptation steps will be discussed with climate change, and how countries can better protect themselves from the effects of the climate crisis.

The head of a high-level delegation to the (COP27) conference in Sharm El-Sheikh, German counsellor Olaf Schultz, arrived in Sharm El-Sheikh.

Taking into account Paris 2015 and the activation of Maja at the Glasgow 2021 conference, and mobilising teamwork on adapting procedures and mitigating the effects of climate change, it should be noted that Egypt will host the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27), which runs from November 6–18, 2022, in Sharm El Sheikh.

The United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP27) is attended by 110 heads of state and government, 10,000 civil society organisations, 26,500 representatives of official delegations and bodies, and 3,321 media outlets, for a total of 44,017 participants.
