The 2022–23 Champions League draw, which took place today, Monday, in the Swiss city of Neon, produced a new revenge match between Mohamed Salah of Liverpool, a professional with the Egyptian national team, and Real Madrid in an early final for the European championship.
In the eight Champions League games in which Liverpool and Real Madrid squared off, Liverpool won just two of the encounters, while Real Madrid prevailed in five of them.
The two teams only faced off once in the round of 16 of the Champions League before their second meeting occurred in the 2008–09 season. Liverpool overcame the riyal barrier and advanced to the quarterfinals of the league by winning both of the two meetings by a combined score of 5-0.

Anfield Stadium, the home of the Reds, will host the first leg between Liverpool and Real Madrid on February 21, and the Santiago Bernabeu will host the second game on March 15.
It is the last confrontation that brought the two teams in the final of the championship last season, and Real Madrid won a goal without a response, in the match that was held at Du France Stadium.
