The Chinese Central Bank supports an investigation with a deputy governor

An inquiry against “Van Yue,” one of the governor’s deputies, who is the newest financial figure under investigation as part of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s anti-corruption drive, has received the support of the Chinese Central Bank.
China is looking into Van as part of its anti-corruption campaign.
In a statement released on Sunday, the bank stated that it was “strongly” supporting the investigation of all infractions, according to the Bloomberg News Agency.

On Saturday, Van’s name was removed off the bank’s website’s list of executives. The announcement, which was posted on the Central Bank’s website today, made no mention of Van having a functional title or of any other changes.
In addition to sending a message “for the uncomfortable efforts to combat corruption,” the statement said that the inquiry demonstrates the Communist Party’s strong commitment to the battle against corruption.

The Chinese Central Bank is in favour of having a deputy governor oversee the probe.
