Sonak: Our relations are important and historical with the Gulf states

On the sidelines of the Climate Conference on the Climate “COP 27” held in Sharm El -Sheikh in Egypt, British Prime Minister Rishi Sonak stressed the importance of the relations that bring his country to the Gulf states, and expressed his aspiration to achieve progress in trade relations with them.
He stated that his nation is “lucky with its crucial and historical links with the Gulf states” in statements to Arabic/Al-Hadath today, Monday.

He further stated that these ties must extend to economic collaboration in addition to defence.
He stated that there was a need to speak with his country’s allies about Iran over the Iranian file. He emphasised how the region is unstable because of Iranian policies.

Furthermore, he added, “Tehran has not previously approved the nuclear agreement,” in light of the fact that the situation has gotten worse due to the crackdown on the demonstrators who have been holding demonstrations since mid-September following the death of the young woman Muhsa Amini.
He believed that “Russia’s invasion of Ukraine made the shift to clean energy inescapable,” as he put it, with regard to the Russian-Russian file.

Regarding earlier American information and reports that seemed to imply that Washington wanted Ukraine to return to the negotiation table with Moscow, he also observed that “it is not fair to force Kyiv” to negotiate while being assaulted.
He reaffirmed, “Not permanent prosperity without taking actions to reduce climate change. On the summit of climate and the global environmental catastrophe.

While the majority of speakers today emphasised the need for global action to reduce the factors that highlight their weight on climate change and threaten the entire world, especially developing countries, it is noteworthy that about 200 world leaders participated in today’s opening of the presidential session of the conference, which will continue until November 18.
