The Saudi Ministry of Defense announced today, Monday, the fall of a F -15S fighter plane due to a technical defect during a training mission.
It did, however, vouch for the aviation crew’s survival.
During a routine training mission at 22:52 on Sunday (06 November 2022 AD), one of the Royal Saudi Air Force’s F-15S aircraft crashed due to a technical issue at the King Abdulaziz Air Force Base’s training area, according to a statement from the ministry’s spokesperson, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki.
According to the official Saudi Press Agency, “SPA,” he also noted that the two officers who made up the flight crew escaped after using the survival chairs. He emphasised that there are no casualties or losses on the ground as a result of the plane’s accident.
Al-Maliki finished by saying that an inquiry group had begun its work to ascertain the specifics and causes of the disaster.
It is interesting that the American “Global Fire” website placed the Saudi Air Force among the top 10 air forces in the world in 2022, out of 142 nations.
