Macron: We need a tremendous shock in terms of providing financing to repair climate change damage

French President Emmanuel Macron stressed on Monday the need to support developing countries to move away from unclean energy and provide the necessary financing to repair the damage caused by climate change currently and in the future.
Macron addressed to the leaders in attendance at the beginning of the UN climate conference in Egypt: “We need to transition our economies away from coal.

In order to help developing nations transition to clean energy, we also need to assist emerging nations in doing so as quickly as possible, the statement continued.
“We need a tremendous shock in terms of financing on facilitated conditions,” Macron said, expressing his support for financing countries that can no longer do their job as usual after their damage to the changes related to climate change, according to the Associated Press.

While the majority of speakers today emphasised the need for global action to reduce the factors that highlight their weight on climate change and threaten the entire world, especially developing countries, it is noteworthy that about 200 world leaders attended today’s opening of the presidential session of the conference, which will continue until November 18.

Macron: We need a major shock in terms of money to fix the effects of climate change.
