“Xinhua” highlights Sisi’s confirmation of Egypt’s aspiration for the exit of “Cup 27” with concrete measures on the ground

The Chinese news agency “Xinhua” highlighted President Abdel Fattah El-post Sisi’s on his official Facebook page today, Monday, in which he reaffirmed Egypt’s desire for the conference of states parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, “COP 27,” to move from the stage of making promises to that of putting concrete measures into action.

The issue of combating climate change is one that affects all of humanity, according to “Xinhua,” and it can only be solved through collaboration and effective implementation. Given the limited time left to address the scourge of climate change, all parties, particularly developed nations, should take concrete action.

She emphasised that instead of simply declaring targets, a shared understanding must be translated into concrete procedures. She said that the conference, whose work was began yesterday/Sunday, will see significant talks and reach a more bold consensus on climate control.

She continued, citing the accomplishments of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Kyoto Protocol, and the Paris Agreement as examples of the numerous notable advances in climate control that have been made over the past three decades as a result of the international community’s concerted efforts.

China has established a leading team to direct and coordinate related businesses, create and release a dedicated high-level document, and in 2021, its national carbon market, the largest emission trading system in the world, will start online trading, according to “Xinhua,” which noted that China has taken a number of practical steps to address climate change and to achieve the goals of reaching carbon emissions and carbon neutrality.

Globally, China has actively promoted green cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, implemented cooperation on climate change between countries of the south, and assisted developing nations in strengthening their capacity to deal with the effects of climate change by offering financial support, signing cooperation agreements, implementing mitigation and adaptation projects, and holding training sessions.

“Xinhua” noted that from the beginning of the year, climate change-related natural disasters have continued to encroach on human dwellings, with Europe having recently seen the biggest free wave in millennia; In North America and Asia, there have been terrible floods and droughts that have affected broad areas. In these conditions, no one is strengthened, just as in the Horn of Africa, where many animal species are starving to death and people are starving to death.

Sisi’s affirmation of Egypt’s desire to leave “Cup 27” with tangible actions on the ground is highlighted by “Xinhua,” according to the news source.
