The Technology Technology and Entrepreneurship Summit, which began its work yesterday at the Alexandria Library as a competition for entrepreneurship, was launched concurrently with the start of the United Nations Climate Change Summit COP27, which began today in Sharm El Sheikh under the patronage of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and a wide international participation.

The competition, which is organised in collaboration with the Swedish embassy in Cairo, aims to encourage entrepreneurs to offer creative solutions that help Egypt’s environment overcome problems with water, energy, waste, and recycling while also reaping economic rewards that don’t harm the environment.

According to Mohamed Al-Dalal, Executive Director of Knight, there are nine competitions held as part of the Techni Summit activities this year, and each one aims to maximise the benefits of technology and connect it to entrepreneurship to improve and develop various economic sectors as part of digital transformation plans in line with Egypt Vision 2030.

Al-Dalal continued, saying that Egypt’s hosting of the climate summit is a significant international occasion that highlights the need for collaboration to end harmful practises that jeopardise the security and safety of the planet and inspires us to help find solutions to the problems facing the planet, noting that business owners and innovators bear a heavy burden in this framework.
