Egypt’s exports of cement make a big jump

According to a government data, Egypt’s cement exports increased significantly during the first nine months of 2022, reaching a record 502 million dollars, up from 356 million dollars during the same period in 2021.

The monthly report issued by the Export Council of Building Materials showed that export was made to 72 countries, with a growth of 41%, indicating that cement exports recorded 336 million dollars during the first half, and about 166 million dollars during the third quarter of 2022.
Additionally, 5 African nations acquired 58.3% of Egypt’s total cement exports during the first nine months of 2022, for a total of $292,751 million.

The Ivory Coast came in second with a value of $55.135 million with a rise of 6%, valued at 11% of the overall value of Egypt’s cement exports. Ghana ranked first with the list of the top imported cement countries from Egypt, at 21.5% of the total value of exports.
Egypt’s cement shipments to Cameroon increased in value by 329%, and those to Sudan increased in value by 44%. Cement exports from Egypt to Libya decreased by 26% to around $40.5 million in total.
