Yemeni Prime Minister: Peace will not be achieved in our country because of Iran

Iran and the Houthi militia it supports are to blame, according to Yemeni Prime Minister Moeen Abdul-Malik, for preventing peace in the nation.
In statements in a session of the Council of Ministers today, Sunday, he stressed that peace will not be achieved in Yemen because of Iran’s insistence on its aggressive behavior and blackmailing the world through its tools of the Houthi group.

According to the Yemeni news agency “Saba,” he further emphasised that the fight against the Houthis is “crucial and existential” and that there is no other outcome possible.
It is noteworthy that the country has returned since the end of the last truce on the second of October to the zero point, due to the intransigence of the Houthis and the attempt to impose their conditions, which obstructed the international efforts to extend the ceasefire for the third time.

The Yemeni sides agreed to prolong the ceasefire for two more months under the same terms, from August 2 to October 2, 2022, the UN reported on August 2.

This extension followed a precedent-setting cease-fire that went into effect on all fronts of the conflict in Yemen last April (2022) and stipulated that all offensive military operations must cease on land, at sea, and through its borders. Additionally, the parties met to agree to open roads in Taiz and other provinces to improve the freedom of travel for people inside the nation and to make it easier for fuel ships to enter the country.

However, the Houthi militia prevented the continuation of that ceasefire for a third time by providing unfavourable information.

Iran, according to Yemen’s prime minister, will prevent the country from experiencing peace.
