WestJet says system-wide outage impacting operations

A “system-wide outage” that is affecting operations is being reported by WestJet.
“We apologise for the trouble this is giving our visitors. We are experiencing a significant number of delays across our network, and our contact center is unable to access guest reservations, at this time,” WestJet said in an email to Global News.
“We are actively trying to restore service while getting the systems back up and operating.


According to social media posts, many WestJet passengers have waited for hours to board aircraft, and some have even missed connecting flights.
Carmen Eberle, a resident of British Columbia, reported that her son has been waiting to board a plane in Vancouver since 1 p.m.
“There are no new developments. People are becoming impatient since no information is being released, according to Eberle.
“People have been left in the dark after a protracted wait.

” WestJet said only one flight has been cancelled so far, but many flights are delayed by hours.
When the system problems at WestJet will be fixed is unknown.
