The German president praises Japan as a reliable partner

Japan was commended by German President Frank-Valter Steinmeier, who called it a “strong and loyal” ally.
Steinmeier stated today, Wednesday, at an event conducted in the Foreign Chamber of Commerce in Tokyo, “Confidence and credibility were the basis of many successful political and commercial ties between our two countries.”
It should be mentioned that Japan will replace Germany as the group’s leader in the first quarter of 2019.

Steinmeier, who has been in Japan on an official visit since Tuesday, noted that the two nations are currently dealing with problems that are similar, such as climate change, the transition to a global digital economy, and population ageing. Steinmeier also noted that the effects of the Korona pandemic, such as the disruption of supply chains, have not yet been fully addressed.

Steinmeier pointed out that the war in Ukraine not only brings a terrible suffering to citizens there, but also to the poor in other countries, where there are problems in food supplies, adding that the high energy prices affect everyone. For many individuals, the loss of prosperity is an existential concern, he said, urging them to be careful not to become more dependable than they already were.

The German president hails Japan as a trustworthy ally.
