The first stage of the Al-Zour Refinery project’s commercial operation was announced by the Kuwaiti Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC), according to the Kuwaiti News Agency today, Sunday.
The effort to produce and sell first quantities of fuel oil and supply it to nearby electric power plants began last month, and the trade operation follows.
Al-Zour will be Kuwait’s largest integrated refinery and petrochemical complex. The Al-Zour refinery project had been planned for a decade but was repeatedly delayed.
