The trip takes place just hours before the start of the climate summit that Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, will be hosting from November 6 to November 18, in front of thousands of people from around the world who are concerned about environmental issues as well as many heads of state and other top government officials.

As is customary, the Sharm El-Sheikh airport administration doused the aircraft with water to mark the arrival of the first flight powered by biofuels by “EgyptAir.”
The director of the mitigation and emissions equation department, Chairman of the Climate Preparation and Preparation Committee for the “EgyptAir” company, Karim Jamil Saeed, revealed in exclusive statements to “Sky News Arabia”, about the details of the first flight using biofuels.

• “Biofuels are characterised by 80% less emissions compared to the ordinary fuel of the aeroplane,” notwithstanding their high cost relative to traditional aircraft fuel and their current scarcity in significant amounts in airports throughout the globe.
• “As part of the targets for having no carbon emissions in 2050, I request that biofuels be made available in more airports throughout the world and that their costs be affordable for all airlines.

” • “We implemented a number of climate change mitigation strategies during the previous period in accordance with global protocols, starting with reducing weights and switching to eliminate monochrome plastic from aircraft and operating four flights per day to Europe with up to 80% environmentally friendly services, in addition to other technical procedures.

• “Within the framework of the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s strategy to achieve sustainable development in accordance with Egypt Vision 2030 and reduce environmental pollution and carbon emissions, EgyptAir has also followed plans to rationalise electricity and water consumption in the company’s buildings.
