Renewed clashes between “victory of Islam and Muslims” and ISIS in Mali

According to the Zallaqa Foundation, the official media arm of the Nasra al -Islam and Muslims group, the fighting between the two parties resumed a few days after it first broke out, killing 30 fighters from the first group and about 60 fighters from the ISIS branch in the African coast known as the “Sahel State.”

In a new statement released yesterday evening, Al-Zalbaqa Foundation claimed that an attack on the ISIS headquarters in the “Einker” region between the towns of “Menca” and “Iddalman” (northeastern Mali) by a company from the Saraya of the Nasra al-Islam and Muslims group resulted in the deaths of 5 ISIS members and the escape of another group.

It is noteworthy that the Nasra al-Islam and Muslims organisation and the ISIS organisation in the coast and the African desert (the state of the Sahel) intentionally spread false information about the clashes that occur between them in Mali. This is especially true given that the clashes are for control and access to influence within the northeastern regions of Mali, as the two parties compete to subject these areas and impose financial taxes on their local residents.

The Nasra al-Islam and Muslims group, on the other hand, is fighting against ISIS (the state of the Sahel) in order to drive it out of the northeastern Mali regions in order to increase its influence in the area. ISIS finances its operations by using the local populace as a form of blackmail and by taking part in illegal smuggling operations.
