According to newspaper reports from this evening, Saturday, Didier Deschamps, the first French football team coach, worries that striker Karim Benzema won’t be at the 2022 World Cup.
Benzema, 34, won’t be participating in any national team competitions for France from 2015 to 2021 because of a feud with Deschamps.
The Spanish newspaper “AS” indicated that Benzema was unable to participate in the group training session held by Real Madrid, today, Saturday, two days before Rayo Vallecano, in the thirteenth round of the Spanish League.
She emphasised that Benzema had a muscle injury while waiting for the results of a new doctor’s examinations to verify his official status at Rayo Vallecano in La Liga.
Less than 15 days before the start of the 2022 World Cup, Didier Deschamps expressed concern to the French national team’s supporters on the injury to Karim Benzema.
According to her, France’s head coach started developing a new attacking strategy in anticipation of Benzema’s potential absence from the World Cup.
Notably, Ngolo Kanti and Paul Pogba will not be allowed to be called upon by the France team, which will host the 2022 World Cup alongside Denmark and Australia in the Tunis Group due to their official absence from the World Cup Qatar.
