The refusal of some Republican candidates to acknowledge the outcomes of the mid-state elections, according to US President Joe Biden, “paves the way for anarchy.”
In excerpts from his address made public by the White House, Biden stated that candidates seeking jobs at all levels of government in America “do not adhere to accepting the results of the elections they are running.”
He continued, “This opens the door for turmoil in America that is unprecedented, illegal, and un-American.”
The Democratic President said, “As I’ve said before, you can only love your country when you win.
“This year is not like others.”
“In a typical year, we do not encounter much uncertainty as to whether the signal we send will safeguard democracy or endanger it,” he said.
“But that is the case this year,” he added.
Election observers predict that on Tuesday, the Republicans will gain the majority of seats in the House of Representatives from the Democrats, while it remains uncertain if they will be able to hold onto their majority in the Senate.
Rejecting the outcomes of the midterm elections, according to Biden, “paves the way for catastrophe.”
