The Cypriot President visits Egypt, Israel and France

Nikos Anastasiads, the president of Cyprus, is travelling to Egypt, Israel, and France to address climate change and other topics of interest.

According to the Cyprus Cyprus newspaper, the Cypriot Presidency press office, Anastasiades will depart for Egypt tomorrow, Sunday, to attend the climate summit (COP 27). In addition to making a speech at the summit, Anastasiades will also present “the Cyprus initiative to address climate change in the eastern region The Mediterranean and the Middle East.

The Israeli president, Isaac Herzog, has invited the president of Cyprus to visit Israel on Wednesday, when he will receive the nation’s highest distinction for his decisive efforts to advance the strategic partnership between Israel and Cyprus.

In Israel, Anastasiades will also meet with Benjamin Netanyahu, the winner of the most recent elections, with whom he reportedly had “great cooperation during his previous state as prime minister.”

After that, Anastasiades will travel to Paris to meet with Emmanuel Macron, his French counterpart, with whom he will talk about the Cyprus problem, the current state of affairs, as well as a suggestion that the European Union launch an initiative in collaboration with the UN to resume the solution to the Cyprus problem.

Anastasiades will take part in the Paris Fifth Forum for Peace when he is in the French capital, where he will debate a variety of topics including how to sustain international collaboration for world peace.
