A huge surprise was disclosed when Egyptian art critic Tariq El-Shennawi discussed how Ahmed Salem, also known as “the singer Al-Naqash,” was barred from performing with Asala Singing at the Arab Music Festival’s closing ceremony in the Egyptian Opera House.

Since Salem was not a coach and his attire was inappropriate for the Egyptian Opera House, one of the festival organisers protested to his participation in the event.
The musician Helmy Bakr, a member of the Supreme Committee for the Arab Music Festival, later emerged as the person behind the ban. He confirmed in press statements that Salem must be rehabilitated prior to standing on the opera tree and that he may not be thrown into the sea once without being taught to swim at first.
Al-Shennawi confirmed that he was present during the event, where he saw a young girl enter the stage to shake Asala’s hand and be requested to sing impromptu. Asala agreed, and no one mentioned her training or the fact that she was not qualified to enter the opera theatre.
Al-Shennawi challenged the singer Salem’s superior viewpoint, particularly because Asala sought to boost his talent by having him speak briefly during the wedding, but in the end the high voice was successful in staying away from the ceremony.
The singer claimed in a video that he was unable to attend the event because he did not have the necessary documents to submit an application for the festival. Al-words Shennawi’s came to refute this claim.
