Pakistan Prime Minister participates in the Climate Conference in Sharm El -Sheikh

Along with Bellawal Bhutto Zardari, the foreign minister of Pakistan, and other members of the Council of Ministers, Prime Minister Mohamed Shahbaz Sharif is attending the “Climate Summit” in Sharm El-Sheikh.
According to a statement released by the Pakistani Embassy in Cairo today, Saturday, the Prime Minister will also join his Norwegian counterpart at a high-level roundtable on “climate change and sustainability in fragile communities” on November 8, 2022.

The Prime Minister also participates in other high -level events as a speaker, including the round table of the Secretary -General of the United Nations to launch early warning systems for the executive work plan, and the “Green Middle East initiative summit” on November 7 hosted by the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman.
On the sidelines of the summit, the Prime Minister is set to meet privately with a number of international leaders.

The twenty -seventh parties conference will be held at a time when millions of people face in Pakistan, and millions of others in other parts of the world, with severe harmful effects of climate change and as one of the most developing countries affected by this phenomenon, it is among what Pakistan will do it will make a strong call for climate solidarity Based on the ideas of justice and shared obligations, even though they vary depending on each person’s capacity, urgent and climate justice is successful.

Pakistan will head the 77th and China Group in climate change negotiations, including those pertaining to issues like financing, adaptation, relief, and capacity building. The 77th and China Group is the largest negotiating grouping of poor nations inside the United Nations system.

The Parties Conference is the Supreme Decision Commission under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), which meets annually to review and enhance collective efforts to address climate change. Pakistan will continue to actively participate in the discussion, talks, and group efforts on combating global climate change as one of the most affected nations.
