Council of Ministers: A new green hydrogen strategy raises the gross domestic product 18 billion dollars

The establishment of a national green hydrogen strategy, which will boost GDP by 10 to 18 billion dollars by 2025, was announced today by the Council of Ministers.
According to the statement, the new strategy will be announced during the activities of the Climate Summit “COP 27”, as it aims to benefit Egypt from its competitive capabilities to reach 8% of the global market for hydrogen.

According to the statement, Egypt has the ability to produce green hydrogen at the lowest cost in the world. The statement also stated that the cost of production is expected to drop to $1.07 per kilogramme in 2050 from $2.07 in 2025, and that the strategy will create more than 100,000 new jobs in addition to lowering Egypt’s reliance on foreign oil imports and lowering greenhouse gas emissions.
