The American representative to the UN stated on Friday that China and Russia’s condemnation of North Korea’s “Magic” missile series in the Security Council included their being “mocked” in the same manner.
During a security meeting, Ambassador Lindas Thomas Greenfield stated, “These members defended the frequent transgressions by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, and in turn they aided Korea Democratic Popular Korea and mocked this council.”
Despite Seoul’s announcement that North Korea launched an intercontinental ballistic missile on Thursday, Pyongyang is believed to have launched a regular barrel of missiles within a 24-hour period, suggesting that this operation was unsuccessful.
Due to North Korea’s “recent provocations,” South Korea and the United States announced the continuation of their largest-ever joint air drills. Pyongyang quickly criticised this decision, calling it the “wrong choice” in reaction to its northern neighbor’s action.
Additionally, in a fresh incident of the high level of tension on the Korean Peninsula, the South Korean army on Friday announced the deployment of ghost fighters after observing the movement of 180 North Korean jets.
