Zidane as coach of France after the 2022 World Cup Finals

According to press reports published on Thursday, Zinedine Zidane will succeed Didier Deschamps as France’s technical director following the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
After a season without winning any championships with the club, Zizou left Real Madrid for the second time in a year in May 2021. Even though he was associated with numerous professions between them, he has since been a free coach.

Thierry Henry, a former teammate of his in both France and Juventus, has noticed that the 1998 Golden Ball Award winner might be waiting for the job of coach of the French national team. It appears that he has already decided who would take Deschamps’ place in the upcoming months.
Deschamps became a coach of France for more than eight years when Laurent Blanc resigned from his position after the 2012 European Nations Cup.

After falling to eventual champion Spain 2-0 in the quarterfinals, the French squad was eliminated.
Deschamps has since guided France to second place finishes in the 2016 European Nations Cup and the 2018 World Cup. Now, Zidane has the chance to succeed one of France’s best coaches in recent memory.
The former Real Madrid midfielder has an impressive resume, having led Los Blancos to three UEFA Champions League championships.

As a player for France, he also took home the European Nations Cup (2000) and the FIFA World Cup (1998).
His final game was a head-hit against Marco Matirazi in the 2006 FIFA World Cup final, which earned him a red card. With a penalty shootout, Italy maintained their lead in the championship.
