The novels of Youssef El Sebaei between reality and the screen will be signed and discussed at 6 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, November 5, at the Greater Cairo Library, in the presence of the minister of culture, Nevin Al-Kilani, the former governor of Luxor, Major General Dr. Samir Faraj, Dr. Walid Saif, professor of cinematic and television criticism at the Higher Institute for artistic criticism, and professor Dr.
Issam Zakaria, a film critic, and Thanaa Hashem, a professor of screenwriting at the Film Institute.
The book reviews the history of the relationship between the novel and the cinema in Egypt and the mutual influence between them and how the cinema in its infancy was fundamentally adopted on the international novel and then moved to the Egyptian novel to be the main source of quotation from it in the era of the prosperity of Egyptian cinema, and the book explains the details of the artistic quotation process and to what extent it was successful in the stages The book first discusses the evolution of Egyptian cinema before comparing the novel and the film from numerous angles in the pages that follow.
After that justification, the book divides the world of Al-Sebae and storms Youssef El- Sebaei’s, whose works stand at a distance between his reality and existence and their embodiment on film and television.
The nature of each stage was reflected on the art of the novel at Al -Sebaei without changing his easy -to -refrain style, but his military background and political and cultural work greatly affected his dealing with the topics.
The writer chose the novel (I am going), the film and the series to express the first stage and the novel (my heart’s response) and the film The series, its book (Age of Moment), and its movie are meant to express the second and third stages, respectively.
The Greater Cairo Library will host a signing of “Youssef El Sebaei’s novels between reality and film” tomorrow.
