The repercussions of Pique’s retirement .. Barcelona aims to include Silva in January

Barcelona is expected to suffer a great deal as a result of Gerard Pique’s retirement, both financially and athletically.
Although Pique’s retirement might free up a significant portion of the club’s wage budget because the veteran defender was one of the highest-paid players at Camp Nou, the club’s options are now limited to the centre of the defence.
Following Pique’s retirement, Barcelona may even consider switching to Bernardo Silva in January, reported the newspaper “Sport.”

Manchester City star was one of Barcelona’s most significant acquisitions during the summer transfer window since, after all, he was chosen as a desirable alternative to heal in his search for the ideal Badri partner. Given the uncertainty surrounding Frenke de Jong’s future, Barcelona’s coach wanted to upgrade the internal midfield.

This step, however, was not completed because Barcelona was unable to support the Portuguese international for the estimated 100 million euros because Manchester City was not particularly eager to sell the star player, even if the English giants were considering selling.

But now that Pique has retired, Barcelona believes he is in a position to move to Silva in the upcoming January transfer window. In addition, the team still receives some income from economic cranes.
Although it is still improbable that Manchester City is considering selling in the middle of the season, the club can use these resources to move for Silva in January.
