The injury removes German striker Werner from the World Cup

Timo Werner, a striker for Germany, will miss the World Cup finals in Qatar owing to an ankle injury, the German football club Leipzig said on Thursday.

The bad news for German national team coach Hansi Felk, who is preparing to announce the final squad from 26 wedding players, is that Werner was injured on Wednesday during his team’s match against its host Shakhtar Danitsk (4-0) in Warsaw in the sixth round of the Champions League. The international is scheduled between November 20 and December 18.

Sadly, the tests he had today in Leipzig revealed a tear in his left ankle, therefore he will be out until the end of 2022, according to Liepzig.

German striker Werner is forced to withdraw from the World Cup due to injuries.
