The French President announces his intention to visit Iraq soon

Patrick Doriel, the French Special President for the Middle East and North Africa, revealed that French President Emmanuel Macron intends to travel to Iraq shortly and noted that France will take part in the Baghdad summit that will take place in Jordan at the end of this year.

According to the Alsumaria News station on Thursday night, this occurred during a meeting between French Special President for the Middle East and North Africa Affairs and his accompanying entourage and Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shi’a Al-Sudani in the country’s capital, Baghdad.

The delegation carried a message from French President Emmanuel Macron to the Iraqi Prime Minister, which included emphasizing the importance of bilateral relations and seeking to develop cooperation and partnership between the two countries, and also included his call to visit France.
The necessity to continue bilateral cooperation in accordance with the agreements and memoranda of understanding inked by the two nations was emphasised during the discussion.

In this regard, Al-Sudani emphasised the significance of cooperation with the French side in aiding the recovery of funds stolen from Iraq and contributing to the improvement of the investigative skills of the Integrity Commission, as well as cooperation in the area of aiding the Iraqi healthcare system.

The French President indicates that he will shortly visit Iraq.
