The death of Ibrahim Mounir, Acting Assembly of the Brotherhood

Ibrahim Mounir, the Muslim Brotherhood’s acting deputy general assembly, passed away in London today, on Friday, at the age of 85.
Munir is one of the leading figures in the outlawed group’s defection, as the London Front took the initiative against Mahmoud Hussein’s “Istaniol Front.”
In 1965, when he was 28 years old, Munir was found guilty of trying to revive the Muslim Brotherhood and was given a ten-year prison sentence.

The deposed Brotherhood leader Mohamed Morsi delivered a wide defence for himself on July 26, 2012.
Ibrahim Munir was exempted from membership in the Muslim Brotherhood as of July 12, 2022, according to a statement released by the organisation. This was due to Munir “not adhering to the decisions of the legitimate group’s institutions and developing alternative entities away from these institutions.”

13 members of the public Shura who took part in this defection and the establishment of the Shura Council in opposition to the Sharia Council were also identified in the statement.
The London Front, directed by Ibrahim Mounir, sought to create a supreme body as an alternative to the Istanbul Guidance Office, led by Mahmoud Hussein, as the Brotherhood divisions widened significantly.

In order to deal with the Mahmoud Hussein Front, which sticks to its organisational sites as former members of the Guidance Office, Ibrahim Munir established the commission.
Four approaches for reconciliation between the two suffering fronts have been made, according to sources, as a result of each front’s devotion to its demands, which the other front views as marginalisation.

Ibrahim Mounir, Acting Assembly of the Brotherhood, was killed.
