The American trade balance records a deficit of 746 billion dollars in 9 months

Between the beginning of January 2022 and the end of last September, the American trade balance recorded a deficit of $745.6 billion, up from 620 billion dollars in the same period the year before, or a 20% rise. According to the US Department of Commerce’s monthly report released on Thursday, US exports totaled $2. 248 trillion for the first nine months of 2022, up from $ 1. 87 trillion during the same time in 2101.

The total value of imports during the first nine months of this year was $2. 993 trillion, up from $2. 490 trillion during the same period last year. According to the data, the US trade balance deficit increased by 11.6% in September of last year to $73 billion, up from $65 billion in August.
In September of last year, imports climbed by 1. 5% to $331. 3 billion while exports declined by 1.1% per month to $258 billion.

A severe slowdown in the expansion of global commodities trade was anticipated by the World Trade Organization for 2023 as a result of rising energy costs, high interest rates, and costs for food and fertiliser that increased demand for imports.

The American trade balance reveals a 746 billion dollar deficit over the course of nine months.
