Source: Work is underway for guarantees to export Russian agricultural products

A source in Istanbul, familiar with the situation related to the grain deal, said that the issue of providing guarantees to export Russian agricultural products is on the agenda of Turkey and the United Nations.
In an interview with “Novosti,” the source stated that work on logistics and insurance has not stopped.

Ibrahim Qalan, the presidential spokesman for Turkey, said on October 18 that his nation had obtained assurances from Washington regarding enabling Russian agricultural exports to reach the international market, and he urged Washington to make this known.
Earlier, as part of the “product deal,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov emphasised the importance of taking meaningful action to lift the export restrictions on Russian grains and fertilisers.

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that after his talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin and after the talks between the defense ministers of the two countries, an agreement was reached on the re -work of the “grain corridor”.
The Russian Ministry of Defense, for its part, declared on Wednesday that Russia would once again take part in the grain trade.

Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, and the United Nations inked a grain agreement on July 22 that allows for the shipment of grains, foods, and Ukrainian fertilisers across the Black Sea from three ports, including Odessa. The contract expires on November 19.
