The newest developments on the Arab summit were discussed with his Jordanian counterpart, Ayman Al-Safadi, according to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who also emphasised that his nation appreciated the outcomes of the Algerian meeting.

Today, Thursday, during a press conference with his Jordanian counterpart, he said that there was a convergence between the Russian and participant countries’ perspectives on the summit’s agenda, particularly with regard to the Palestinian issue.

He emphasised the importance of the Russian and Jordanian positions, the need to implement the Security Council’s decision, and the Arab Peace Initiative. He also expressed his gratitude for King Abdullah II of Jordan’s personal role in securing the right of adherents of different religions to perform their rituals.

According to him, American efforts to bring about peace in the Middle East are being “sabotaged,” despite the fact that the International Quartet Mechanism is the only lawful one that has been approved by the UN Security Council.

In light of the current challenges and threats, he continued, “We discussed the situation in Iraq and the need to take advantage of the comprehensive national dialogue to reach Iraqi public solutions in various political issues. We also expressed our congratulations on the establishment of the Hodeidah government, led by Muhammad Al-Sudani, which is doing everything in its power to resolve urgent issues and the differences between Baghdad and Kurdistan Iraq.
