The French Nantes team, led by national team striker Mustafa Mohamed, finished the group stage of the 2022–2023 European League Championship “Europa League” at the Al–Wasafa Center in eighth place, eight groups behind Freiburg of Germany.
In their match on Thursday night at the Carcacakis Stadium, Nantes overcame their Greek opponent Olympiacos by a score of two goals without a reply, moving the French team up to the ninth spot and five points behind the leader Freiburg.
The Champions League club that moved to participate in the European League will face one of the French Nantes’ opponents in the round of 16, where Freiburg advanced without having to play a qualification round.
Thus, the French Nante is likely to fall in front of one of the eight teams moved to the European League, namely Barcelona, Juventus, Italy, Seville, Spain, Shakhtar Ukrainian, Austrian Reedbul, Sporting Lisbon, Portuguese, Ajax, and Bayer Leverkusen, German.
The European League competition’s qualifying round drawing is slated for next Monday, with the qualifying round itself beginning in February of the following year.
