He shouted with a racist phrase … a strict punishment for a French -right -wing French deputy

The French National Assembly disciplined a deputy from the far-right National Rally Party today, Friday, by temporarily barring it from the chamber and limiting what it received in response to his cries of “Go back to Africa” during a session when a black deputy was speaking.

The most severe penalty in Parliament is depriving Gregwar de Furnas, a member of the National Rally led by Marine Le Pen, of half of his income for two months, as well as barring him from participating in parliamentary proceedings for a period of 15 days.
Yael Brown-Beva, president of the National Assembly, said, “We should not weaken our democracy.

De Furnas’s comments, while leftist MP Carlos Martins Bellongo raised a question about the migration, on Thursday, which led to the stopping of the session.
Le Pen and her party denied claims of racism instead of accusing their opponents of misrepresenting De Furnas’ remarks.

The extreme right denied that De Furnas was addressing Martins Bellongo, asserting that there was no misunderstanding when he made reference to the African migrants who were travelling by boat in the Mediterranean under the auspices of a non-governmental organisation.

He yelled, “A stiff penalty for a French deputy of the right!” in a racist tone.
