With the day of science, we remember the first football team like us to compete internationally in 1972, in the second Gulf football tournament, which was held in Riyadh. As we celebrate the day of science today, we recall that momentous occasion when we advanced to the international championships for the first time. This unforgettable incident will remain a precious memory because of the value of science and its position in our society.

Today I also think of our university students in Egypt, who were among the founders of the Student Club in Cairo in 1974 at the beginning of the third Gulf session, which was held in Kuwait, and who established it as one of the oldest clubs in Cairo. From this club, many students emerged who went on to play for the national team, and some of them decided to put off their studies. So that the generation of the national team at the time is a conscious and educated generation, and they later assumed major positions, they were subjected to his exams for the representation of the state and the performance of the matches, for instance. The Student Club in Cairo is regarded by our students who are studying there as a meeting place for culture and the arts.

After completing their tasks, graduates took over the leadership of clubs and federations, and they held a special position. Our sport benefited from them for their experiences in the Student Club, where I recently met our first children from those who studied in Egyptian universities. I asked them about their memories of their time as students in Egyptian universities between 1970 and 1979—the first years that sports culture was widely popularized—and how they remember those days.

By God, according to His purpose. Quoted from the Emirati statement.
