Werner joins the list of victims of pre -World Cup injuries

In the final round of the Champions League on Wednesday, less than three weeks before the start of the World Cup, Leipzig striker and Germany’s Timo Werner was forced to leave the game against Shakhtar Donetsk.
After a fierce altercation with Shakhtar captain Taras Stepanno, Werner was hurt in the 13th minute.
Before indicating that the bench should be changed, Werner attempted to continue playing.

Werner (55 international matches with 24 goals) is the heart of the only explicit attack in his country’s team alongside his teammate Kay Havertz, and his injury comes at a difficult time for Germany less than 3 weeks before the start of the World Cup Qatar (from 20 to 18 December).
