The Arab League supports Qatar in organizing the World Cup and denounces the “confusion” campaign against it

The Arab leaders denounced the “confusion and sceptic campaign” that Qatar is hosting the FIFA World Cup in November in the closing remarks of the Algerian Summit on Wednesday.

The Arab leaders “support the State of Qatar, which is preparing to embrace the FIFA World Cup 2022 finals and trust in full confidence in its ability to organise a distinguished edition of this global demonstration and reject the malfunctioning and disturbing campaigns that affect it,” according to the Algeria Declaration, the summit’s concluding statement.

“Quatar, whose Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, attended the Algerian Summit, came under fire for violating the rights of migrant workers, homosexuals, and women, as well as for altering the stadiums.
At the end of October, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad voiced his concern that his nation had been the target of a “unprecedented campaign” of “slanders” and “double standards” because of its hosting of the World Cup 2022, which is slated to take place between November 20 and December 18.
