Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the secretary general of the Arab State University, emphasised that the Arab League views culture as a bridge connecting the Arab countries and that it is no less significant than the other components of cooperative Arab action. Culture also remains the strongest link because it is based on the Arabic language, which is used by Arabs to read and write academic and creative works, making it one of the longest-lasting cultural associations and influencing the gathering of Arabs.

During the opening of the sixth session of the “Arab Publishers Conference” at the Sharjah Expo Center, with the theme “Content Industry and Post-Pandemic Challenges,” and in conjunction with the first days of the 41st session of the Sharjah International Fair, the Secretary-General made a speech that was recorded. For the book, “With the participation of 35 Arab publishers and speakers, they address today and tomorrow a set of issues and topics that revolve around the future of the Arab publishing industry, under the patronage and presence of Sheikha Badour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, President of the International Federation of Publishers.

The UAE Minister of Culture and Youth, Noura Al-Kaabi, Muhammad Rashad, President of the Arab Publishers Union, Dr. Ali bin Tamim, President of the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, Ahmed bin Rakad Al-Amiri, Chairman of the Authority Sharjah Book, and guests of honour from the Arab League attended the opening, which was organised by the Emirati Publishers Association and the Arab Publishers Association.

The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States praised the progress that had been made in recent years in promoting reading among the various Arab populations as a result of serious efforts to do so, particularly the effective ones that had their origins in the United Arab Emirates, and he urged Arab governments to keep supporting the publishing sector for its achievements. In Arab societies, it serves as a source of illumination.

Culture is a bridge that is just as crucial as the other components of coordinated Arab action, according to the secretary general of the Arab League.
