According to a statement from the official news agency, this relationship symbolises the UAE’s and the US’s shared resolve to accelerate climate work efforts and raise the bar for ambition in this area through coordinated efforts, in line with their targets to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.

The statement continued, “The UAE and the United States of America continue their efforts to coordinate with the approaching twenty-seventh session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change” COP27 “hosted by Egypt and in the context of the UAE’s readiness to host the twenty-eighth session of the conference” COP28 “in 2023.
