The US Secretary of State and South Korean criticize the “recent provocations” of Pyongyang

South Korea diplomats in South Korea and the United States strongly condemned the launch of North Korea’s recent missiles in their phone talks today, Wednesday, describing it as “dangerous and unprecedented provocation”, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Seoul.
Three SRBMs were among the approximately 10 various types of missiles that North Korea launched earlier today off its western and eastern shores.

The first missile fired by North Korea that crossed the northern boundary line since the conclusion of the Korean War fell on the open seas, 26 kilometres south of the North Border Line (NLL), in the East Sea (1950 – 1953).

According to the “Yonhap” news agency, the ministry stated in a press release that American Foreign Minister Anthony Blinken and North Korean Foreign Minister Park Jin described the recent launch of their country’s missiles as “an unprecedented dangerous military provocation” during their discussions.

The ministry also said they were sorry and decided to sternly respond to North Korea’s provocations because the missile tests coincided with South Korea’s period of national mourning following the recent Halloween stampede tragedy.
Additionally, the South Korean nuclear ambassador Kim John spoke on the phone repeatedly with his Japanese and American counterparts Takhero Fonakushi and Song Kim of the United States.

The ministry stated that they disapproved of North Korea’s actions in defiance of the 2018 military agreement between the two Koreas and the UN Security Council resolutions.
