The UN mission: We are working to reach a broad understanding in Sudan

The spokesman for the Unitias mission, Florence Marshall, stated that this information is accurate following reports of the status of the UN mission, a final document for the solution and understanding between the military and civil component in Sudan.
He clarified that it is inappropriate to refer to a United Nations document that was signed by both military and civilian persons.

He also stressed in a statement to Arabic/Al -Hadath on Tuesday that the solution is in the hands of the Sudanese themselves, and not the other parties, which are working to facilitate the political process, in reference to the triple mechanism.
Additionally, he emphasised that “Unitias, the African Union, and Al-Aqada” are collaborating with the Sudanese parties all day long to come to a comprehensive understanding that results in a crisis resolution.

The United Nations is anticipated to present a final document to the agreement between the military component and the forces of freedom and change during the next two weeks for signing after the return of the President of the Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, from the Sharm El Sheikh Climate Summit, according to identical Sudanese sources earlier today.

She added that the construction of a full civilian administration with pure powers will be emphasised by this agreement, which is based on a constitution published by the Termier Committee for Lawyers.
It is noteworthy that the UN envoy, in addition to the commander of the armed forces, Abdel -Fattah al -Burhan, recently expressed their hope to reach a very soon consensus between civilians and military in the country.

Later, however, representatives of the forces of “freedom and change,” the primary civil element of the opposition, refuted all rumours of an impending accord between civilians and the military element.

Despite all international efforts to start dialogue sessions that result in a resolution between the parties, the nation, which is one of the poorest in the world, has been in a political and economic slump since October 25, 2021, when the army imposed exceptional measures and the previous government’s solution.

The objective of the UN is to promote widespread understanding in Sudan.
