The General Division of Digital Economy: Egypt is witnessing a boom in the field of entrepreneurship

Starting today, November 1–4, in Lisbon, Portugal, the “Web Summit” web exhibition and conference began. An official Egyptian mission, which includes 12 exhibitors and 11 visiting firms with representatives of these companies, entrepreneurs, and founders, will be there.

The ITE Development Authority “Itida” and the General Division of Digital Economy and Technology of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce are supporting the Egyptian mission through an Egyptian wing.
In addition to 1,200 speakers, the “Web Samit” exposition and conference draws more than 90,000 visitors from 160 different nations. More than 1500 creative businesses from various nations across the world are hosted there, along with more than 850 investors in the technology sector.

The General Division of Digital Economy’s Head, Khalil Hassan Khalil, emphasised the necessity and significance of Egyptian participation in this year’s session, which is thought to be one of the largest Egyptian participations in the Lisbon conference. He also emphasised the significance of the exhibition for startups as one of the most notable exhibitions that participates in the Division, with the assistance of the IT Industry Development Authority “ITIDA” and within the framework of the division.

With the growing interest of investment funds, financing institutions, and organisations specialised in caring for, embracing, and accelerating the emerging innovative business and projects, Egypt is experiencing a breakthrough in the field of entrepreneurship. Tech-based startups there are growing at rates never before seen.

Khalil added that the most prominent exhibiting companies are: Ischool, Koraastats, ILLA, Appgain, Wuilt, Fab-Minds, Zeal, Circlepay, AMWAL, Swft, Elgameya while the list of Za companies includes Techiematter, Cybletalents, Sprints, DKILO, PayMint, Esaal Consultant LLC, Read To Lead, Pharmacy Marts, InnovolVE IQraaly, Unlock, and Sigma Fit are the eleven companies for this year.
