Tehran accuses Washington of politicizing human rights at the United Nations

The United Nations in Tehran pleaded with the world today, Monday, not to attend a conference at the UN that was planned by the United States in response to the protests in Iran that were started by a young police officer.
According to a message viewed by Reuters, Washington has politicised human rights.
The United States and Albania will hold an unofficial meeting of the UN Security Council on Wednesday that all members of the international organization can attend.

She will address the Iranian gathering, including Nobel Peace Prize laureate Sherine Abadi and Iranian-born actress and activist Nazanin Bonadi.
Amir Said Arafani, Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, wrote in a letter to the organization’s members that “the United States has no true and actual concern about the human rights situation in Iran or anyplace else.”

He labelled the demonstrations as an internal matter and warned that if the UN Security Council took up the matter, there would be “counter-results for the promotion of human rights.”
The fundamental tenets of human rights are distorted because the United States lacks the political, moral, and legal credentials necessary to host such a summit, according to Arafani’s article.
Since the killing of the Kurdish Muhsa Amini, 22, during the seizure of the Ethics Police last month, Iran has seen protests.

The turmoil has turned into a popular revolution by the Iranians from all classes of society, which constitutes one of the most daring challenges of the religious leadership in the Islamic Republic since the 1979 revolution.
Iran is to blame for the unrest in the nation for the actions of its agents and foreign adversaries.

The meeting on Wednesday, according to the American mission to the UN, intends to “emphasise the continued repression of women, girls, religious, and ethnic minorities in Iran” and to establish strategies for improving trustworthy and independent investigations into human rights abuses in Iran.

Afrani questioned the US government’s dedication to protecting Iranian women and urged UN members to “explicitly object to such reckless and dangerous practises through which the US is trying to set such a dangerous precedent and politicise human rights issues in order to further its political agenda.”

Washington is accused by Tehran of politicising UN human rights issues.
